Banned Books Madness
September 29 @ 10:00 am - October 8 @ 5:00 pm CDT
If you’ve ever thought, “I wish March Madness could happen in the fall, and I wish it could involve books instead of basketball”, then your dreams are about to come true! Lindell Library is celebrating Banned Books Week, a week to highlight challenged books and speak out against censorship, and invites you to help us celebrate. Visit Lindell Library to join in on the Banned Books Madness! Play along to win special prizes from the library. Here’s how:
Find our bracket on the first floor of the library, to the right of the Service Desk.
Vote for your favorite books in each match up and drop your votes in the ballot box. There will be several rounds of voting, and the winning books will advance each round. Come back to vote in as many rounds as you’d like!
Round 1: Sept 29-30
Round 2: Oct. 1-2
Round 3 Oct. 3-6
Round 4 Oct. 7-8
Your vote counts as your entry to win one of our prizes. Write your name and email address on your vote so we can contact you if you are a winner.
For more information about book bans in the United States, ask a librarian or visit the American Library Association’s website. We hope you enjoy Banned Books Madness and celebrate the right to read!
