Worldwide Ukrainian Play Reading Project

July 22, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm CDT

Staged readings of Ukrainian plays written since the Russian invasion. A fundraiser for Ukraine.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, theaters across the globe have been providing staged readings of Ukrainian plays to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people and raise awareness of their plight. Augsburg University’s MFA Program joins this effort with special assistance from Lisa Channer, the Artistic Director at Theater Novi Most.

All plays translated from the Ukrainian by John Freedman and Natalia Bratus except Peace and Tranquility which was translated by John Farndon.

These plays were written in March 2022 as a commission from Philip Arnault’s Center for International Theater Development (U.S.) with support from the Trust for Mutual Understanding.
