Queering Career: Navigating Respectability Politics – Zoom Event

April 21, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm CDT

Join LGBTQIA+ Student Services & Strommen Center for our final Queering Career event of Spring 2020.

We will be hosting Mossier to facilitate a conversation around respectability politics and the world of career.  As a world dominated by cisgender and straight supervisors and organizations, there’s little to no visibility of LGBTQIA+ communities and their needs, as they can differ from privileged communities.  This workshop will create space for audience members to dialogue questions, like:

What intersectional LGBTQ+ inclusive competencies do you hope an employer would have?

Which intersectional LGBTQ+ inclusive competencies do you anticipate employers actually having?

You deserve to not only get a career, but feel seen, valid, and embodied in all your identities as an employee.

This will be a casual event via Zoom.   Please RSVP on Auggie Life
