This event will bring together student leaders and volunteers from multiple campus organizations Campus Ministry, Biology Club, and the Pre-White Coat HealthSociety, fostering interfaith and interdisciplinary collaboration through shared service.During the event, volunteers will assemble hygiene kits containing essential items such asmenstrual products, toiletries, and basic personal care supplies. These kits will be distributed tosupport unhoused and refugee communities in and around the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.Donations will be divided and provided to local mosques and churches near campus thatactively serve these communities, as well as to partner nonprofit organizations dedicated toaddressing housing insecurity, refugee support, and access to basic necessities. Through thiscoordinated distribution effort, we anticipate positively impacting the lives of approximately 1,500individuals.
Rooted in the values of the EMBLEM grant, this packaging event emphasizes bridge-buildingacross religious and social differences by uniting students from diverse backgrounds around ashared commitment to dignity, compassion, and service. Interfaith collaboration will be centeredthroughout the planning and execution of the event, intentionally creating space for reflection,relationship-building, and collective action to better serve our community. Through this hands-oninitiative, the event will not only address immediate community needs but also strengthenlong-term partnerships between student organizations, faith communities, and local nonprofitscommitted to health equity and social justice.
