Experience “Dances and Diapason” with the Augsburg Symphony Orchestra!
Under the direction of Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman, the orchestra presents a vibrant program exploring movement, melody, and musical heritage.
The evening begins with selections from the Codex Martínez Compañón, offering an energetic glimpse into the 18th-century dances of Peru. Next, the orchestra brings to life Joseph Bologne’s Symphony No. 1, showcasing the elegance and brilliance of this groundbreaking composer.
The program continues with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves, a soothing and evocative tribute to English folk tradition. The concert closes with Peter Warlock’s lively Capriol Suite, a whimsical journey through Renaissance dances, ensuring the night ends on a high note.
