Advent is a time for holy reflection leading up to the arrival of the Christ child (Christmas) whose birth marks the coming of God’s peace.

This season is a time of holy reflection in the Christian calendar. During advent Christians are invited to notice, or “keep awake” to, the blessings in their lives, the pain of their hearts and in the world, and the deeper meaning of God’s promise of abiding love (commonly referred to as, Emmanuel: “God with us”).
