Decorating will be taking place Sunday, September 22 from 6:00-10:00pm. Student organizations taking part will check into the Christensen Center Lobby at 6pm.
 
There are 6 categories, each of which have a top $1,000 prize. There will also be a Grand Champion who will win an extra $500. 
 
The categories include:
 

Most 150th/Retro Themed

i.e., Celebrates Augsburg’s past or future

Most Auggie Pride

i.e., Shows your pride in Augsburg

Most Representative of the Student Organization

i.e., Demonstrates the mission and purpose of your student organization

Most Interactive

i.e., Has features that bystanders can interact with (e.g., things to read, musical elements, etc.)

Most Sustainable/Environmentally-Friendly

i.e., Calls attention to environmental awareness and/or uses environmentally-friendly decorations

Most Tied to Augsburg’s Mission

i.e., Incorporates elements of thoughtful stewards, critical thinkers, responsible leaders, and informed citizens into display

 
The rules are:

Student organizations may compete in one or multiple categories. You will not let Campus Life know which category you are competing in; instead, be sure that it is clear from your display on which category or categories you are focusing.
Student organizations may partner together on a single display and split prize money if they win.
Students cannot decorate before 6:00pm or after 10:00 pm.
Only students can decorate. Staff, faculty, and community members may watch and cheer, but they cannot help.
Students may prepare supplies and bring their own supplies. Campus Life will also have extra supplies (e.g., glue, markers, construction paper, scissors, ceiling magnets, gaffers tape, etc.) to hand out to all organizations.
You cannot use any paint on the walls, windows, or doors (including spray paint or washable paint).
You can only use the tape that Campus Life provides.
You can only adhere items to the ceilings using the magnets that Campus Life provides.
Student organizations must be present at the Taste of Augsburg on Saturday, September 28 from 11am – 1:30pm to win.
