Zyzzogeton Research Symposium: “Finding Intersectional Solutions to Environmental Sustainability & Social Justice
April 12, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm CDT
Augsburg celebrates the creativity and scholarship of undergraduate students with its annual Zyzzogeton festival. The festival falls at the end of each academic year and is a culmination of achievement featuring work across departments. This year Zyzzogeton will feature posters from about 50 undergraduate researchers in the science, social science and humanity disciplines.
Among those featured is the work of Nyasa Henderson Meany, Environmental Stewardship Coordinator and Intersectional Environmentalism major. Over the past year, Nyasa has interviewed leaders in organizations with a social/racial justice focus and/or an environmental sustainability focus. She has asked each one about their work in social justice, racial justice, and environmental sustainability and, in her analysis looked into where there are clear connections and disconnections amongst the leaders’ conceptions of social and racial justice and environmental sustainability. Come learn about her research and findings at the Zyzzogeton Research Symposium.
