SUMMARY:Summit at the Capitol with the Young Adult Coalition & ISAIAH
DESCRIPTION:Our goal is to shape the conversation at the MN State Capitol and win a downpayment on our future. Through a collective effort from young people\, we have organized a Young Adult summit at the state capitol on climate action and funding the downpayment on our future. There is a more than a $9 billion surplus in Minnesota\, which could fund a future where we address the climate crisis\, invest in paid family leave\, and provide the education we deserve. As part of this summit\, we will be organizing a series of workshops that we believe can spark further conversation and activism. These workshops range from policing and public safety\, transportation and its effects on the environment\, to education reform. Take to train with LEAD Fellows and Augsburg’s Organizing Cohort to join youth and youth adults from across the state. DESCRIPTION:Join Augsburg student leaders\, the Sabo Center and ISAIAH MN Young Adult Coalition at our state Capitol on Tuesday\, April 5th from 3pm-7pm to let our state’s leaders know that we care and are serious about climate\, education\, affordable housing and other issues that affect our communities! This will be a time to rally around rent stabilization\, attend a workshop to learn more about issues on climate\, education\, policing and care for all\, and hear from our leaders including Attorney General Keith Ellison.
