DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC) places volunteers 21+ in full-time service positions at social-justice non-profits for a year. Volunteers explore living simply and sustainably in intentional community while serving the cause of peace with justice. LVC provides a foundational learning experience on racism\, oppression\, and privilege\, how these intersect with social justice\, and the role of spirituality in inspiring and sustaining leadership. Year-Volunteers live together in furnished\, utilities paid housing. LVC’s positions change annually and may include: Education\, Environment\, Food Justice\, Gender Equality\, Health Care\, Housing\, Immigration/Refugees\, Legal Aid\, LGBTQ Equality\, Supporting people with Disabilities\, Youth Engagement\, etc. LVC is on a Journey to an Inclusive Community and welcomes and encourages the participation of People of Color and people of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
