DESCRIPTION:Join East Phillips Neighborhood Institute Urban Farmer\, Kieran Morris\, and the Sabo Center’s Community Changemakers to learn about the way that growing food in our cities builds health\, power and agency in our neighborhoods. This will be the first of two talks by Kieran\, and a series of talks and workshops from EPNI staff over the remainder of the semester.\nKieran is a community organizer\, farmer and canoe guide\, specializing in Green and Blue work\, bringing practical skills alongside traditional knowledge and grassroots mentality to connect people with the land and water. At EPNI\, Kieran coordinates the Outdoor Farm project\, which grows produce and medicine at sites across East Phillips\, and hosts free educational workshops. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an evening showing of the brand new Twin Cities Public Television documentary Paradox: Echoes of Reform & the Minneapolis Police (https://www.tpt.org/paradox-echoes-reform-minneapolis-police/)\, hosted by Augsburg’s own Michael Lansing and featuring Daniel Bergin\, filmmaker\, Twin Cities Public Television executive producer\, and historian. The film–a compelling blend of deep research\, candid interviews\, and rare archival footage–explores the history of police reform in Minneapolis.  It illustrates how mayoral politics\, community activism\, and police union pushback shaped the city’s trajectory as well as what is at stake for the future of public safety.\nSelections from the documentary shown\, with Bergin and Lansing available for conversation during and after the showing.
