DESCRIPTION:Pre-registration required. \nWorkshop Description: Spaces in higher education remain predominantlywhite\, and white people tend to silence the voices of faculty and staff ofcolor without realizing it. These “white talk moves” suppressimportant perspectives and voices and prevent meaningful inclusion. In thisinteractive workshop\, participants will focus on identifying White Talk Movesthrough a collection of scenarios in which the voices of BIPOC in highereducation have been silenced.  We will focus on how to engage in thesesituations explicitly and productively at the moment of utterance whether youidentify as white or a BIPOC. We are excited to engage our community\, andothers\, in these real\, radical\, and relational conversations through ourarticle and workshop.
