DESCRIPTION:The Pre-Med Student Association invites the Augsburg community to join us in giving back through a Food Drive supporting local homeless shelters in the Augsburg area. As future healthcare professionals\, it is essential to cultivate empathy\, compassion\, and community awareness—values that lie at the heart of good patient care. This event is an opportunity to put those values into practice by helping provide food resources to those in need.\nWe will be collecting non-perishable canned and dried food items at our tabling event in Christensen Center. For every 10 cans donated\, participants will receive 1 hour of volunteering credit. Each donor will also receive a certificate of appreciation recognizing their contribution.\nThe food drive will take place over three days:\nMonday\, October 27 | 12:00–1:00 PM\nWednesday\, October 29 | 12:00–1:00 PM\nThursday\, October 30 | 12:00–1:00 PM\nYour donations will make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. DESCRIPTION:Migration: Building a Better Future – The Role of Higher Education in Successful Immigration Stories.\nPast. Present. And Future\nThe two-day event will be held at Augsburg University in collaboration with the Thor Heyerdahl Institute (Vestfold Museums)\, alongside Vestfold and Telemark County Councils\, and the Norwegian Crossing Committee. The event will include breakout sessions\, panels\, speakers\, and art-and-culture-related performances. The event invites the participation of college students from multiple campuses\, as well as youth groups and high school students in the Twin Cities area. \nThe Thor Heyerdahl International Days event is also collaborating with the 5 additional sister universities (Augustana\, Concordia\, Luther\, Pacific Lutheran\, and St. Olaf) in the United States.
